valvoline 5w-30 synpower

Oh no another complaint about Mobil making noise!!Valvoline conventional cannot be driven 10k without problems but it works for you it seems.

i vote to leave the Valvoline conventional in till at least 3500 miles. it will perform great even towing. then switch to the synpower and run it 5-6k. motorcraft filters are one of the best IMO.

just finished the oil change. the 4.0 is a [censored]. had to get a special filter wrench to fit the mc filter in a real tight spot. next time i will have ramps instead of a floor jack and stands. one observation i did make on the synpower compared to Mobil 1 is the Mobil 1 is darker out of the jug and always seemed to have a trace of dark setiment in the bottom of the jug. the synpower is a clear color with no trace of setiment. could that be moly settling in the Mobil 1? thanks guys for your opinions and info.

Yes, I have noticed Valvoline is a lighter color than M1, never noticed setiment and I have used a lot of M1. I have seen it mentioned, maybe im not looking hard enough..

I never notice any sediment on the recent jug of M1. I did have sediment in the Valvoline Racing Oil quart bottles from 1998 but after a minute of shaking it the others had less.
