Valvoline 0w30 Euro Oil

No. Run something MB229.5 and Porsche A40. Mobil1, Motul, Pennzoil. Do UOA to see where you at.

Thanks for the recommendation - I got some Pennzoil Platinum euro 5w40 since oil needed to be changed. i'll send off a sample after the first interval.

I've been lurking and had a side question related to b58 oil and the cooling system - I've got the supra variant with a flex fuel tune that has the cooling set more aggressively. I'm running a 5w30 LL04 oil. Basically instead of staying above 200 f , oil is heating up to about 205 degrees when warming up and then it lowers and is keeping the oil temps around 178 - 182 degrees (maybe going a bit higher at times). Is a safe temperature range for the oil to be?
What brand and version is this?

Neither is Mobil1 X3 ESP 0w-40 European car formula. But at least the ESP does have MB 229.51 and .52, so that covers 229.5.
No it does not.
MB229.5 is Full SAPS oil, and MB nowhere specifies that MB229.51/52 is backward compatible, like VW states for VW504.00/507.00 (only for EU).
MB229.5 is a current specification that is updated regularly. It was introduced in the same year as MB229.51.

As for Mobil1, I am not sure what that has to do with Valvoline, but Low SAPS oil cannot be approved for MB229.5. My reference was that Valvoline 0W30 is not approved for MB approvals in that oil category, which is MB229.51/52.

What about 229.6? My car specifies both.

The Lubrizol comparison tool seems to indicate that all of the parameters are met using any of the above specs.

Lubrizol also tells you not to compare specifications with each other.
MB229.6? Specifies both? Which ones? MB229.6 and?

In reality, MB 229.51/52 could be used in the US after 01/2017, when we also switched to ULSG. In Europe, MB has been using 229.51 in gas engines since 2009 (in some countries, mostly EU (some not) and Switzerland, Iceland and Norway). But some MB are strictly MB229.5 and cannot use MB229.51. The difference is that with ULSG TBN won't be depleted before 10k OCI. That does not mean MB229.51 "replaces" MB229.5. Both have their place in MB lineup and both are introduced at the same time and both are updated throughout the years with new specifications at the same time.

MB229.6 is ACEA A5 oil. It is Full SAPS (there is MB229.61, which is Low-SAPS oil) and lower HTHS oil than MB229.5. It is basically "energy conserving" oil.
I think at one point, MB had an explanation in the manual on when to use MB229.5 (maximum wear protection), when to use MB229.6. In some, it had an explanation of when to use MB229.51 (maximum wear protection), when MB 229.61 and when MB229.71.

i was searching info for mb 229.3 for educating reasons and found this one:
