Southern California (at least the parts I have checked with friends), have Quaker State and Havoline Synthetic oil for $2.00 qt. 5w30 & 10w30

I have plenty Pep Boys buy 3 get 3 free which I belive is a better deal??????

Just got back from AZ and the MaxLife Syn is full price, but the Trop-Artic was $1. All the Syntecs including my GC was $5.19

Plenty of GC though.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance was $4.99, go figure. Oh well, I didn't need to buy anymore oil anyway.

I cleaned out another AZ at lunch today. I have hit a total of 6. Two were already sold out.

Some of the clerks were unaware of the price change, some were aware, and one store still had the full price listed on the shelf but a quick price check revealed the computer had been changed.

No mystery here...I suspect they are just clearing out the SL to make way for the SM.

104 quarts of MaxLife and counting...barely a year's supply for me.

Walmart buys low and sells high all the time. Why shouldn't a customer occasionally do the same?

Walmart sells some products at prices higher than the local independent hardware store does while advertising "everyday low prices". Price a basic duplex wall outlet or simple wall switch at Walmart and your local hardware store some time. The last time I did so the Walmart price was over $2.00 while the Ace hardware store price was $.79 without any special sale going on.

Doing a little price arbitrage the other way with those folks does not bother me at all.

Why go through the trouble? Why not just walk up to a cash register at Walmart, jimmy it open with a prybar, and take out a couple of 20s and be done with it? Sorry: I'm not a fan of Walmart, but if you don't like their pricing policies, just don't shop there.

No break here in RI. MY local AZ rang up at full retail price. The manager said they were "giving it away yesterday" and caught the glitch with the UPC and updated their computer. This stinks because there was still plenty left

I'm thinking glitch also. That's what I was told. UPC dependence causes a lot of unintentional SALES.

Glitch? LOL Come on guys, most have the $2.00 pricing on the shelves. IMO the stores that do not have it on sale are the "glitch" in the system.

Just grabbed 30 quarts. Enough for a year for both my cars and my Moms.Tipped off 2 guys buying oil and they grabbed some tone guy set a case of Pennzoil down and picked up 2 cases of Maxlife.

**** , this ****** me off. Just went to AutoZone; 4.99/quart. I asked the manager, and he hasn't heard anything about it. Said prices are set at corporate (I asked if it was a regional marketing deal).

No sales here either. I stopped in the Autozone in Shippensburg, PA on my way home from work, and MAxlife Synthetic, Exxon Hi-mile, Kendall, etc. were ALL regular price. I even had them price-check to be sure.

I checked two Autozones in the Pittsburgh PA area and they only had the GC on sale for $3.99 a quart. No other oil related deals.

i went to autozone this morning and i got 12 quarts of Valvoline MaxLife Full Synthetic 10w30 ,all for 24 dollars plus tax(2.00 each)sweet!!!!!

It may still be out there. I bought 14 quarts (all they had left) at the AutoZone in Moorpark, CA. I had them check the price first and they confirmed that it was $2.00 a quart.

Yep, I posted an update in the Promotions, rebates, etc. forum. My local AZ now has the $2 signs up, but other AZs still sticking with $4.99.
