Oreck looks like they build a fantastic product, but what does plastic have to do with anything? It's a vacuum, not a club.
Plastic simply doesn't hold up...I've had the Hoovers, the Bissels, the Eurekas, and even the Dysons and they're all plastic...seems to me like they're purposely made to be replaced every several years...throw-aways if you will...you'll pay more for an Oreck, but we've had ours for 7 years now and it still works the same as it did new...
