i bought 2 jugs of 5w-20 and on the back of the barcode it says 10w30...........hrmmmm.....any thoughts? I looked at other qsud 5 quart jugs and they were all labeled correctly, except for the 5w-20 weights.

Whoops! Looks like someone forgot to change that part of the label when they edited it for 5W20.
Btw, ST# is store number. You can find what store that is from with a 2 second google search.

I do remember seeing a post from another member stating something similar.

That is one of those asterisk things, it says something to the effect of

Something to that effect. I don't get this photo though, the API Donut says 5w20/Energy conserving and the receipt says 5w20. Where do you see 10w30?

I would not worry about it, I would think for sure, and myself if I purchased that oil it's 5w-20, and they either made a mistake in the labeling, or maybe it's even part of a process they go through when changing jugs over... it could even be as simple as the jugs were molded for 10w30 which may be the biggest selling viscosity, and they used the jug for 5w-20... whatever the case I think you have 5w-20

If you happen to have 10w30 I bet also many many cars get filled with 10w30 at quick fills, yet I understand your standpoint as your taking the time, trouble, and expense to do this yourself correctly... but 10w30 still will not be the end of the line worse case scenario

isn't 10w30 good all the way to freezing? nothing in the world wrong with it unless you will be spending time below freezing.
funny though! LOL

I think i saw this a few months ago, maybe on another forum. I would call anyway just to confirm. My Focus does not like 10w30 at all.

You can definitely feel the difference between a 5w20 and 10w30 when you shake the bottles. Try it next time you're at WM

Well yeah because 0w20 and 5w20 will be similar until you get to the really, really low temperatures. Their 40 degree Celsius specs are similar enough.

so what youre saying i guess, you couldnt tell a diff between 5w30 and 10w30........thats my point, and a "shake test" isnt accurate

How is a comparison between 5w30 and 10w30 supposed to mean anything when comparing a 20 weight with a 30 weight? Those will definitely be different

the point is.........it says 3 different things on 1 bottle, whos to say what it really is!! I have a valid point and im NOT going to argue w you about it!! examples...GC is a heavy 30 so it could be mistaken for 40w, Edge is a thin 30 could be mistaken for a 20 of another brand.....etc etc

You're already arguing and I'm not really sure what your point is. I'm just trying to help a guy who is possibly freaking out because he needs some assurance he bought a 5w20.

ok, I see what's going on

Re: USUD @ walmart...labeling problem [Re: garlicbreadman] was the title of my post yet because it appeared directly below yours, you somehow thought I was replying to you and not the OP. Please read more carefully from now on. For my part, I'll start using the quote function more. Thanks

ill do whatever you say! since youre an expert "oil" shaker, maybe you can fly out and "feel my dipstick" and tell me when my oil needs changed!
