Using Permatex to seal an oil pump

It was a fine gasket. Not a cheap knockoff type. Might have been OEM or felpro. If there was a problem, it might have been with my install, or that the pump became warped because i pried it off or something (I had difficulties). Either way, I'm thinking sealant is the way to go. One can see how easy it would be to apply a bead of permatex in the spaghetti-seal groove.

Argh, when I did one of those I installed the O-ring dry. I don’t like RTV in “critical” spots. I use anaerobic sealants with oil pumps like Subaru ones.

@Trav I ordered a small tube of Hylomar M. It looks like it should seal well, very sticky. Guess I'll be keeping the original gasket and just sealing it up with some Hylomar M, blue glue.
