Using Mobil 1 HM

No. Your engine was designed for SM oil. The M1 HM will have higher Phosphorous content than allowed in SM specs. This may cause an issue with catalytic converter life in the long-term, but your engine will love it.

Nope but if it has the four there is a good chance it'll sound louder. There isn't anything wrong with the oil but my 4 cylinder Malibu was consistently louder while running M1. PHM seemed to quiet it down.

I have a 2006 GMC Canyon with the 5 cyl. Mobil 1 10-30 since new now with 90,000 mi and no change in sound. It says it requires 5-30, but that is to light for S. Fla and me. At 100,000 mi maybe I'll start using HM oil possibly 10-40.

Hey rokwldr - Have you tried Pennzoil Synthetics for your GMC? We're starting up another round of our Used Oil Analysis program for 2016, and we'd love to have you join us. For more information, please send us a private message. Talk soon! - The Pennzoil Team

Hi aquariuscsm - At this time, Pennzoil does not have plans at to blend a High Mileage 20W-50 motor oil. Hope this helps! - The Pennzoil Team

Gena is a great asset to the Pennzoil team & needs to be respected. She was very kind & considerate & professional helping me with the trial of Pennzoil synthetics from day one. Thanks again Gena & the Pennzoil Team
