Hi everyone,

My gf got me a rebuilt CH 1810 electric powerwasher as a gift yesterday. Come April, I'll start using it to help clean the stubborn spots on my car when it's warm enough to DIY wash here in Wisconsin.

Does anyone use the detergent tank on theirs? What do you put in it, and at what concentration? This powerwasher has 2 tanks, and they're selectable by a switch on the front.

I was thinking it would be nice to have a way to use it like a "wand" carwash on the days when I don't have the time to wash and dry by hand. Can I put a few ounces of regular carwashing soap in it?

Thanks for any suggestions. I did read the topic on here about electric powerwashers from a few weeks ago, fwiw.

One of the latest trends with hobbyist detailers is using a foam lance with a pressure washer. It's real popular in the UK for some reason. If your CH model comes with the containers and wands, you are good to go.

Use a normal car wash shampoo about 10:1 or so. Experiment a little with shampoos and mixtures to see how it works.

Go to YouTube, search the term "Foam lance" or "Foam Gun" and watch some of the vids, it's pretty cool.

Here's a good vid with a fun punk rock soundtrack.... crank it up!!
