So we have to get the state inspection done on my car, and because of the CEL it would fail. So we went to Advance... All they had were Bosch Oxygen sensors in all the stores within 100 miles (ugh). So ended up getting them. Made in USA. The rear O2 sensor has never been changed, so I'm hoping changing it will keep the CEL for Catalyst efficiency off. The only thing I'm concerned with is that I hear lots of stuff about bosch products, O2 sensors included, not all of it good. I replaced both o2 sensors. Anyone have past experience with them?

Bosch O2's and GM never work out for me. If your getting a P0420 code then new O2 sensors are only a 20% chance to getting rid of it.

Well hopefully it will last. If I have to replace the pre-cat O2 it won't be as big of a deal, for only $20 apiece. When I had the post cat out, I shook the cat, and there was a rattling sound inside, like little pebbles or something were inside. I was hoping this is just loose carbon. Now, I'm guessing not. Right?

No, cat is bad. Sorry man.

I had one bad experience with Bosch Platinum 4 plugs. On my 1.8lt. Prizm I was getting 15mpg,I replaced the brand new pricey Bosch plugs with factory recommended cheapest simplest NGK plugs, I started getting 35mpg.
I would get NGK sensors instead.Try rock auto.

Yes

Don't buy all the internet rumor mills about Bosch products ...it is probably the work of stealth marketing hacks ...

I've only used Bosch ignition and related products for years and have never had any issues at all.!!!!!

Bosch was the inventor of the O2 sensor..so I'd be willing to say that they make some of the best and most reliable.

Their oxygen sensors are fine. Problems stem from improper installation or other failing components.

Bosch and NTK (NGK) are huge OEM suppliers for this kind of part.

For the most part, any good quality O2 sensor should work. However, in some applications it matters. Certain vehicles just seem to be picky in some cases.

Well, I put NGK Air/Fuel ratio sensor on my Camry because the store had no NGK or Denso part in stock. Also internet grapevine said that Bosch was actually re-branded Denso.

Anyway, the Bosch A/F sensor fixed the Camry code.

Agreed. My OEM Ford ones have all been Bosch. And lasted a ridiculous amount of time.

I have never had any luck with Bosch in "Foreign" vehicles or GM vehicles.

All others have been fine with them.

I use NGK/Denso where possible.

I have been using a Bosch pre-cat O2 sensor on my Saturn for the last 35,000 miles. It was a direct-fit sensor, not a universal sensor though. Were your sensors direct-fit or universal fit?

The old Bosch Plats are [censored] statement...'

I can't recount how many times some person with no business working on a car has tried to change plugs and has broken the wires in the process ...of course the plugs are to blame when the car starts to hesitate after the job...sheesh!!!!

Either that or they have used to incorrect application...

Most every time it is the fault of the person doing the job, NOT the part itself.

I put Bosch O2 sensors on my Acura many moons ago when I replaced the stock exhaust manifolds with a set of Comptech headers. I've never had a CEL, even after Seafoaming my intake - my car runs perfectly.
