When I changed the pre-cat rear O2 sensor on my '96 Contour, it had an NGK from the factory, but I replaced it with a Bosch.
I used an O2 sensor socket to remove the NGK sensor, but the Bosch has a thicker body so the O2 sensor socket wouldn't work to put the Bosch back in.
I had to go out and buy a 7/8" wrench to put the Bosch sensor in. The sensor on that car is very close to the firewall, so the O2 sensor socket wouldn't fit due to the size of the Bosch sensor (it would hit the firewall before it went over the sensor) when it had no problem fitting over the NGK. If it weren't for it being so close to the firewall there would have been no problem.
