Just did a last minute service on my in laws CR-V with the 1.5T. Wasn’t able to order its usual Amsoil so it got leftover PUP, an extra qt of EC30 that was laying around & a Boss filter. Amsoil SS 0/20 & stated filter came off.

One thing I noticed is the filter is of higher quality/build construction than some of my other Amsoil filters. This one had a metal crimp seam as well as metal wire backing instead of the usual plastic that’s on others as of late. I’m unsure of how the Amsoil date code reads but I’m guessing it’s a 2019 build. Any additional information would be appreciated as this filter was most certainly back to the Amsoil quality standards I’ve been used to.

Beat the filter up removing it:

Filter looks good to me. Thank You

I’d call that one great. It’s a return of Amsoil quality construction.
The OP's picture (and the text) indicate that this is an older filter, so it cannot be a "return" to a particular construction, regardless of any implications of quality levels past or present.

For sure, the OP filter is different than the Amsoil EA15K13 filters I've recently purchased. The date code FORMAT is different than what is currently used. And, it has a louvered metal center tube whereas current production of this model uses a plastic E-core.

A recent production EA15K13 that I cut up after use, but was unfortunately unable to photograph, seemed to have many more pleats.

I did photograph the exterior of a EA15K13 before I installed it on my Subaru Outback XT a couple of weeks ago, posted below. I'll be able to cut & photograph it when it comes off, probably in mid-December, along with a comparison to a Fram Endurance FE7317 that I installed on my Forester. (The current Endurance definitely has a louvered metal center tube).

I have a stock of Amsoil filters, just not this one as it’s not for one of my vehicles. I’m not familiar with Amsoil date codes but just guessed ‘19 as that’s what made sense when looking at it. It was purchased from Amsoil Nov 12, 2023.

None of my other Amsoil filters utilize an E-Core center section, they’ve always had louvers & metal core(for the last several years anyway, think there were holes about 12-15yrs ago).

Here’s a pic of another in 15K-51 size:

Seems they've shifted the time towards the left on the latest ones (Last 4 digits of the time on top right side). Other than that they look similar. Thanks for updating.

I puzzled over the date code since posted. I think the 00:19 is more related to the time of day made, ie., minute 19 of a new day.

The comes the 067 261. What I can get from that, 06 is line, or shift, or factory designation. That leaves 7 261. 7 meaning year made, 2017 or less likely 2007. And 261, using Julian dating, day 261 of that year. That's the best I got.

Filter looks good. Based on inlet holes number and date code, imo topic filter an older Champ Labs made Amsoil filter.

Thanks for c&p.

... .
Do you call the how many miles and months on this OCI? The used oil looks fuel diluted and pretty grungy, just like my Ford D.I. in my signature when change the oil.

No. The last oci was last November. It’s rare this vehicle leaves city limits & there’s only been 2 trips on hwy or interstate since the last service. My MIL didn’t bring the service history folder with her so I just wrote myself a sticky note & will update her log next time I’m over at their place.

That would be my conclusion too, made the 261st day of 2017.
