Maybe. Multiple things can be true and false at same time. Too many people forget that. You can lie, exaggerate, even stretch it but still be telling the truth and profit. Lazar isn't at the top of my credibility list. There are far better examples. Karl Nell is one.

I know coffee cups are real because I have one sitting in front of me right now. I can pick it up. I can handle it. I can break it. Not a fuzzy picture of something that someone is telling me is a coffee cup. Not someone claiming coffee cups exist while not actually handing me a coffee cup. I can actually grasp it.

So, what if you had someone who had also promoted to O-6, had led broader change across their service than Colonel Nell, a person who managed projects totaling hundreds of millions, who, unlike Colonel Nell, had multiple command tours, and a degree in Astrophysics, not just EE.
Would that person have equal credibility in your eyes?
Even if that person wasn’t the attention-seeking braggart that Karl Nell appears to be on his LinkedIn page?

I base my judgement on several things not one thing per se. In general, I would hold physicists/scientists in the highest regard, or pilots like yourself, Cujet and Commander David Fravor (famous Tic Tac incident). It really depends on the overall quality of the person.
I actually thought of you when I saw this video bc you said you saw something that turned out to be a reflection.

@buster You should visit the South this summer and go to the Fyffe UFO Days Festival just down the road from me in tiny Fyffe, AL. Apparently we were visited by them there aliens in 1989, so the little town decided to dedicate a few days a year to them. You might meet yourself a real UFO eye witness.

I find the whole Reality vs Illusion topic to be an exercise in silliness.
It is certainly not a scientific topic and not even a philosophical topic.
If you don't believe in a reality when the evidence of reality is right in front of you, then don't drive, don't go to a doctor, don't use currency to purchase items, etc., etc., because none of these things are real.
Illusionists should stay in their little box of nonreality and pontificate to their cultist followers.

A person can lie but also be telling the truth. One can embellish or exaggerate, while also be telling the truth. Ever know someone that exaggerated a lot, but ultimately was telling the truth?
For example, what if Lazar saw what he said he saw, but lied about attending MIT? So, yes, you can.
I agree! I also enjoy these discussions, a lot of bright minds here, but not bright enough to prove anything to me, no insult intended. As I said earlier, I have never read or heard logical or otherwise how we got here. Lots of scientific data and theories, but to me there seems to be voids leaving a lot to the imagination. The Big Bang created the earth from what, and what created the what? Inquiring minds want to know.
Back on topic, can anyone prove nothing intelligent exists anywhere else? I can't prove it does, and no one has proven it doesn't. Just because we/they can't travel here doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Time for me to ponder what to do today, who/whatever created retirement was brilliant!!

No, that's what scientists do. That's exactly what they are supposed to do. Physicists literally study the fundamental aspects of nature. I don't think you quite understand Dr Hoffman and I'm sure in his presence you wouldn't say it's absurd. Tell Federico Fggins to stop studying the nature of reality.
