UPS takes forever these days

I don't want to discount anyone's grumblings and I sure don't want to seem like I'm oblivious to particular situations, but there sure seems to be a randomness to shipping companies' failures.

I think it depends on your region and where you live in that region. I find at times the USPS is very fast and at time slow. The same with UPS. Both are inconsistent. To say they are both always slow is not true in my experience.

Its 8pm and i havent received my power steering pump i ordered like a week ago. They constantly post a delivery date they cant commit to also. Theyre also getting bad about where they leave the packages. Found mine and the neighbors package on top of the trash cans at the end of the road.
I've had no problems with them

You may be right, but compared to our US Postal Service, UPS are speed demons! LOL!
I think in my area they are getting closer. UPS has been consistently late, even before Christmas season. I also had them damage a package (Home theater receiver) and they basically told me to pound sand. You can see even in the delivery picture from UPS that something had been dropped on the box. There was a huge dent on the receiver right under where the box was damaged. Not happy with UPS lately!

Decades ago UPS was the gold standard for package delivery. On time, on target. UPS was extremely predictable in how long a package would take to deliver. Like a Seiko watch.

UPS today no longer reflects the UPS of yesteryear.

UPS and FedEx are both great here, and we live in a small central WI town of 260 people. Just yesterday, FedEx droped off a package at 12:45 that shipped at 18:15 the night before out of Illinois. That same day, USPS delivered the title to my Copart Volvo that had been mailed from outside the Twin Cities on Xmas eve.

A slow UPS package is leagues better than the USPS package that never arrives, which the post office then lies to you about.
2 years ago I would have agreed, but lately UPS has been horrible for me. Late and damaging packages and saying "Oh well..." I'm guessing they wouldn't take too kind to me damaging their trucks.
