Taken off my wife’s XT6 with 5,000 miles and a diet of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30. This is the filter called out by name in the manual, and it is all I’ve ever run. It looked great inside, drain back valve was still nice and pliable.

Looks like cloth fiber.
The close-up looks to possibly be a metal sliver hanging there.

I wasn’t clean at all cutting this guy open. I dropped the parts into a dirty old baking pan I keep in the garage. Who knows that is on them??? Everything was clean when I cut them open.
