Valvoline VO-25 cut open 10.5K Miles

Approx 10.5K miles. 2003 Ford Focus. Originally Valvoline Syn 5-20 changed oil later to Syn Frankenbrew whatever. I was surprised to see such an intact solid filter. The drainback valve was pliable and held the oil in for over a month before I cut it open.

Ecore center tube, or metal? These were Purolator for the longest time, but I’m thinking they’re Champ now.

The center tube appears non metallic.

Everyone loves to hate on Ecores but that is a pretty solid filter. Definitely wouldn't run one that long though.

I typically would not run that long, but it is not my car. When I changed the oil I thought that I had a filter to fit but didn't and so re-used filter. Owner was broke and I donated the oil.

VO-25's are Champ E-cores (same as the $3 Supertech filters).

The company Transit 3.7 van runs 7500 miles every time on these, they haven't failed yet, except for ADBVs could bs better, they do drain back (VO-105s).

I remember when these had metal end caps and metal center tube back in the day. Before champ Labs went to the ecore design. Worked for Valvoline for a long time.
