For the Canadians in the GTA and Montreal area, you can try this place and enquire about the availability of this oil : http://www.noco.com/canada/

I got my M1 0w40 from them for $7.25/L in a 6 x 1L case.

Just worried about *** -raping fees when shipping across the border. I'm dying to try this oil, but I can't see myself using it regularly if it becomes an expensive, hard to find boutique oil.

Aren't you guys concerned this new oil might poison your catalytic converter?

If Amsoil doesn't poison catalytic converters, this new Mobil 1 won't either.

I don't think so

Yeah but whos gonna run Redlines Specific Race Oil in their daily driver? Most will run their normal oil.

Dont forget about RP. ALso Torco's SR-5 is really their top race oil.

That would only be a concern if you've got an engine which burns a lot of oil, in which case you've got bigger problems to worry about than a $200 catalytic convertor.

Maybe... and maybe that's why some Race Car Drivers, when it comes to their own cars, and their own businesses (outside of racing) where they have to pay with their own money, that unless the oil (they promote) is free, there are those that do not run the oil they "SELL". Wish I could give more details, but suffice to say, that every oil serves its own specific application.

I walked into a room with the TV on the other day, and I caught the tail end of a commercial or some kind of sponsor credit segment for Mobil 1-R. I think we are about to see the big marketing machine kick into gear.

What type of commercial was it? The oil should be available very soon at AVlube.com.

To be honest, the only part of it that registered was the last screen that showed the words Mobil-1 with a big red R after it. I was not paying attention to the commercial until I saw that so I can't tell you. I don't even recall what program was on.

It will be suitable for any car/truck most likely. However, it is rumored to be around $16qt.

Let's hope this isn't true.

If that price ends up being true, they have severely limited their market for this oil, because people already don't want to pay $7 to $8 for Redline, so who in their right mind would pay $16 for this oil?

At $16/qt it better:

1. Come with a great filter
2. Change itself (including filter, see #1, above)
3. Add 30hp immediately
4. Be good for at least 30k miles
5. Prevent _any_ oil burning at all
6. Make me irresistable to the opposite sex

Can you say "no freaking way am I paying $16/qt for oil?"

Rumoured by who...!

And if it is true, M1 -R will be the ultimate dust collector...until it is no longer on any shelf, anywhere!
