i bought this when murrays was still around if that tells you anything. must have been spring/summer of 2007.

would it still be good? i don't know if i believe moisture could seep through the plastic.

and its good stuff, it has a dry boiling point of 500*f.

There may well be some diffusion of moisture through the plastic bottle, but then again it would also be the case if it was sitting in the reservoir in your car - and lots of folks have fluid older than 2007!

Id use it assuming the seal was good.

I'd use it. There is no expiration dates, that I have been able to find, on "unopened" brake fluid.

IMO....that is still very good brake fluid. I still use Pennzoil HD, Dot 3, sold at Big Lots....when I can find it....and I've never had a problem with the fluid.

There is no "Born on Date" or "Expiration Date" on unopened brake fluid. Now, if the foil seal is broken at the top.....then I would toss it.

It will be fine in a DD

I wouldn't put it in a car that sees track duty because the boiling points may have been affected... and buying more brake fluid would be cheaper than a new car when you cant brake and hit a wall.

Let's say there was some microscopic amount of H2O in the bottle from some weird circumstances in which it was stored [like immersed in water].
That would be overcome by the inherent properties of the fluid, which absorb the water as a beneficial attribute.

In other words, I'd use it with no reservations!

I wish I could find SynPower Dot 4 brake fluid. Gah!

The unopened, sealed packaging was designed to protect this no-shelf-life product as long as it sits on a retailer's shelf, whether that's 5 months or 5 years.
