Universal HVAC Capacitor

I just changed a cap on my condenser unit a few weeks ago . I ordered a replacement from Amazon . Assembled in Mexico . $15 .

That's a lot of money to spend for a "universal" cap. Made in USA is a plus.

But typical combined caps (for condenser and fan) are around $15 to $25; far cheaper to just buy the "right" one in advance and have it as a spare, rather than spending $85.
Unless you want to help out a friend, neighbor or relative.

At $87, that universal capacitor is ridiculous. I see no advantage to buying it. I can buy a replacement OEM for my unit at around $22 and change it every five years. I keep the old one as a spare just in case.

I do the same - not every five years - replace the good ones when I'm in there, and store the old one right in the unit.
A "known good" part can be invaluable.
The five year plan is a good one, I may adopt it.

I'm not going to change out a cap that is working no matter how old it is . I keep spares and change when needed . I'm not telling anybody to do it my way . That's just how I choose to roll ..

The turbo 200 actually works though and serves a purpose.
It's not a good choice for a replacement perhaps a temporary one for a novice.. It's temperature rating is up to 70 degrees (C). It doesn't take much effort to find a replacement rated for 105 degrees (C) at a much cheaper price..
