Depleted my stash of purolator classics(very happy about that) and needed to restock on inexpensive filters and found these union sangyo's on ebay. Read good things about them so i bought a set of 6. One came dented as you will see in the pictures below so I decided to rip it open. These cost $3-4 depending on how many you buy.

This one must have taken a big hit because metal sheet was very hard to rip. It's nice and thick, much thicker than the classics. I used a needle nose plier.

Very nice and uniform pleats. They are glued on very well. Needed a lot of thumb pressure to tear them.

I believe i found a filter of very high value and feel comfortable using it to 7-10k

Over the years I used Union Sangyo oil filters on three Acuras, a Honda and an Infiniti on mostly 5K intervals. Never had a problem, and the price was always right.

It's nice to see some decent looking filter media. Man, that's a big dent. I guess it came from the Postal Service's parcel crusher.
