Hyundai/kia S2630 002750 oil filter cut open

Doing a little research myself to find a better aftermarket filter for my 2018 honda civic.
Here's the Hyundai /Kia S2630 002750 oil filter cut open.
It's made by Mobis (hyundai) and it also uses a M20x1.5 thread and has a 14-16psi bypass valve afaik.
The Anti Drain back valve was very thin and flimsy and is made from rubber.
It uses a paper filter media of 57mm wide and 1610mm long and has a total filter area of 914cm² .( 141sq/in )
It has 60 pleats filter media used very little glue but the center core wasn't glued properly.
Overall its a good filter but i expected it to be a little bit better.

Every H/K OEM filter I have seen in the past 10 years or so has had an orange ADV. When did they switch back to nitrile?

Edit: this is a Mobis filter, not an OEM H/K filter. Not sure what a "Product Line 2" filter is, maybe a value filter they make???

looks very similar to oem H/K, aside from the stated lack of silicone adbv. Can seems longer too.

Yeah pretty much every Hyundai/Kia from the subcompacts to their forklifts uses the same can filter made my MANN Korea (26300-35505). A cheaper option is the MANN w811/80 which is about tree fiddy on rock auto. It will work on a Honda but it's not exactly the correct filter, just like a Honda filter would work on a Hyundai (provided the can doesn't explode from Hyundai's crazy oil pressure swings).

The box from the filter has a fine printing on it that says "Not to be used for warranty repairs" .The online site where I bought it from listed this as a original hyundai filter .

There's also the taller Hyundai/kia filter 26300-02751 which has the Hyundai/kia logo on them .They might only be used in Europe based models.
I don't know how high the Hyundai oil pressures get ,but on my old honda the cold start pressure peaked at 7bars or 102PSi so they can handle a lot of pressure.The bypass pressure on this filter is also lower then on the 35505 filter .

It's also missing the little Hyundai emblem on the bypass valve. That's not a factory filter and shouldn't be used to compare against a factory filter. I bet the Korean writing was taken from a kimchi recipe someplace. I wouldn't waste my time or effort when an original Hyundai/Kia filter can be had for six bucks.

Strange ... what's the difference between "regular repairs" and "warranty repairs" that would make a part not applicable to one type of repair?

That is not OEM Hyundai/Kia. It is Mobis.
Yes Mobis is part of Hyundai, but it is not the same filter that the OEM one is.
They are "official" parts for H/K, but not OEM parts. It is a second tier lineup with the backing of the OEM.

Can you compare the one you have with an OEM H.K filter, sure, but they are not the same, as it obvious by your disection.

Hyundai oil filter burst pressure is over 300 psi iirc.

I'm located in Belgium so yes why not ?Car part website's like autodoc and others all sell the LS350 and the LS489A .One of the previous honda filters the 15400-rba-f01 is actually a purflux filter (has the zigzag filter media and is made in france) There's a cut open on youtube somewhere.Now honda uses Mahle Tennex.I'm not a big fan of the zigzagg filter media but i still going to cut open a blue print (febi billstein) and Vaico filter which look promising.

I think the Zig-Zag filter is actually a advantage, because you have more filter media in a given space. But it´s your decission.

Annother alternative for Hondas is the Mann 610/6, but accordding to some data i found here and in the internet, the Purflux has a better Filtration.

Yep, the same inference can be drawn with Denso OE for Toyota/Lexus and Denso First Time Fit as well as Aisin’s aftermarket line up.

Never seen that part number on any filter lookup tool as OEM. If it works for you OP, great. But I'm happy with what we get here.
