So how the implementation is going to work, I have no idea and scared tbh (I fall under very high risk due to autoimmune conditions) but thats the only way forward.

In CA, we have a plan that includes testing, protective gear and distancing. And watch the numbers closely.

Gov. Newsom:
"when it comes to re-opening, SCIENCE - not politics - must be California's guide."

These are the six indicators that Newsom says will guide California's decision-making:
"The ability to monitor and protect our communities through testing, contact tracing, isolating, and supporting those who are positive or exposed;
"The ability to prevent infection in people who are at risk for more severe COVID-19;
"The ability of the hospital and health systems to handle surges;
"The ability to develop therapeutics to meet the demand;
"The ability for businesses, schools, and child care facilities to support physical distancing; and
"The ability to determine when to reinstitute certain measures, such as the stay-at-home orders, if necessary."

Remember, CA has more than 10% of the nation's population and is the 5th largest economy in the world.

I cannot fathom opening up without adequate testing. Think about schools; the children.

No. Unless policies and procedures are in place (testing) we will pay a horrible price.
Yesterday there were more than 2,500 deaths in US; worst day yet.
Listen to the science.
US has 4% of the world's population and 30% of the infections.

Agree this has to be done carefully,

Do you believe China is being honest about its infection rate, and that places like India have even tested a large % ?

UD

We know China has not been forthcoming; there is a lot of blame to go around.
India, with it's inability to distance and shelter in place for much of its 1.4B people could be horribly scary.

We are all in this together.

I meant this thread to be about unemployment numbers in perspective.
I think it is going too far.
Best to all.
