Ah the Olds 98. For when grammy and grampy couldn’t afford the Buick Park Avenue

Car was sitting the last ten years but wasn't too dirty, just dusty. Lightly sprayed everything with Gunk, then went over it with my pressure washer. Let it dry a few days, then sprayed everything with Meguier's Hyper Dressing mixed 50/50 with water.

The 98's of that era had a shorty/sporty trunk.
The Caprice Classic had an enormous trunk.

Does your Caprice have the LT1 or the 4.3 V8?

I mean I have a '96 98. The only LT1's I have are in a '94 Camaro and '94 Cadillac limo.

In my past life I had a couple 3300 V6's and 3800 series engines (Buick Park ave, Buick Century, Oldsmobile Cutlass) The engines outlasted the vehicles that they were installed in all 3 times. and all 3 went over 200 plus k miles with the century around 238K.

And yes even the 3800 park ave had a factory strut tower brace. the smaller 3300's vehicles I don't believe did.


From what I remember coil packs were a sore spot though I even replaced the main engine computer that was under the coils a few times, with the coils more times then I can actually remember.
