Isn't pennzoil ultra a way higher priced oil than PP? My local Walmart seems to have it backwards.. Regular price on all grades of ultra $27.97. PP $27.57.

I thought ultra was in the 35-40 range, Did I come across a diamond in the rough? I don't use either and just stocked up on napa syn for $3.50 a quart, just curious as I'm one of those guys that will spend 10 min in the oil isle even if i dont need anything, while the wife is browsing kitchen supplies.

Normally its just under $28 for ultra and just under $22 for pp. I spring for the ultra but the Walmarts in MA seem to have it and the ones in NY near Albany do not.

About 28 dollars is normal price for PU, but PP is normally 25 at wally (In MN).

For 3 dollars more Id grab the Ultra if it was available, besides whats 3 dollars get you these days? barely even 2 bottles of soda at the gas station...

W*M's oil prices(as with other products they sell) are changing all the time. W*M buyers(not shoppers) are putting the vendors in a constant "HeadLock" to lower their prices all the time. Sometimes the prices are up .50-$1.00 and the next time I shop there, the prices are lower by the same. And that's just the oil prices!

One would have to know W*M's price strategy, as the price goes down on several products but will rise around the store on other products. You'd have to know their inventory and complete product line.

I buy lot's of products at W*M and I see this all the time. As an example, oil may drop in price but my favorite pair of jeanes/T-shirts(in the Men's Dept.) may be more expensive. It's like this all over the store(s).

The oil pricing strategy in auto parts stores is quite different unless on sale. And you won't see the prices changing nearly as often but, as stated, they have SALES!
