Tyreek Hill detainment

Reckless driving, not simply speeding, which is an arrestable offense in Florida (according to Google). Downplaying the charge/offense doesn't help further prove the point.
I read there were only two charges actually just now
“Hill received two citations as a result of his traffic stop, including careless driving and a seatbelt violation,”

The fact of the matter is, they were not arresting him for his driving. They did not pull him over and tell him to get out of the car and arrest him.

They were quite fine with walking away with his license until he rolled up the window of his car and that is when the police officer got mad and lost his temper, very unprofessional in my opinion.
It will be interesting of the outcome

This dude Hill has no class what so ever.
Clearly, the police had no class either as they were supposed to be the professionals
Actually, when you really think about it and watch that video, he ultimately followed all the commands that the police officer told him.
Even after he rolled down the window, partially, the officer lost control of himself and said “you know what get out of the car”

Not only did he not give him a chance under his own power to get out of the car the officers converged on the car like an armed gang, ripped open the car door, pulled him out of the car, threw him on the ground and put him in handcuffs. Boy, they showed him who is boss, even though they are the public servants.

I’m in shock of some of the comments in here that they think this is justified because the guy was loudmouth obnoxious sounding individual

Not sure, but I saw "reckless driving" from multiple sources. Haven't researched it fully, but doesn't make sense he would be arrested for basic traffic infractions. Reckless driving would just make sense.

How can you say for certain they were not going to arrest him originally? I don't know that anyone here could say that with any level of confidence. I've seen cops run peoples information and then come back and arrest them for something relating to the stop.

The officer's likely had at least some discretion on how to handle the stop.. Maybe they weren't going to arrest him until he was non-compliant? They have the right to make that determination.

Why didn't the cops arrest him for reckless driving? They didn't even ticket him for that. He wasn't arrested at all. He was handcuffed for lack of cooperation in the cop's eye.

Time will tell after an internal investigation, then possibly a federal. Who knows? until it gets cleared.

Florida Statue in the 774 or 5 Chapter is on the police side. Frankly, the aggressor got met with an aggressor.

90 in a 50 mph construction zone and FL State Trooper gave me a warning.

I didn’t act like a jerk.
I have gotten warnings on a couple of blatant speeding violations doing just that. I was chatting with a friend who is a retired NYPD officer. He does the same thing when stopped even though he could instead just ask for professional curteousy. He said doing that goes a long way towards getting a lessor penalty than playing the jerk card.

He was not arrested.
He was pulled from his car thrown on the ground and handcuffed because the police officer did not like the way he was not immediately following commands. OK, time for me to get something done around the house🤣

Better angle from a different bodycam.

Here is the driver with one foot out the door, both hands visible - trying to exit the vehicle before immediately being grabbed by the head and drug to the ground.

Extending stop. Escalating, Excessive use of force is the way I look at. He was clearly trying to exit.

Funny how they don't want to release the earlier bodycam footage.

It would be more helpful if you posted the statue because it’s impossible to know what you’re referring to

One just needs to look at the video as referenced above and my previous link from the New York Post showing a different body cam video. As another one just posted he was clearly getting out of his car on his own when told to.
Man people it’s all good. I’m telling you how this is gonna end up now prove me wrong. These cops will be disciplined or retrained.

My understanding is he was charged with reckless driving. Multiple trustworthy new sources saying he was cited. Furthermore, my understanding is that in Florida they could have arrested him for that offense. Perhaps they used discretion to only ticket him (in other words: come see the judge later, instead of now.)

Great catch !

Agree and the video certainly does show an uncalled for use of force so he has that on his side too. The guy was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed! MY GOD! Hopefully people do not condone this in the USA? Over a speeding ticket? *LOL* Holy smokes how can one defend the police actions. I already know there will be corrective action. Hope we can revisit this in a month.
Yeah, you could tell Hill was about to kick all those officer's butt any second...

Cops are supposed to diffuse the situation; this escalated far too quickly. There was no danger to them.

It was pretty clear that I was in a closed public park, which is a violation of the law. I was not detained.
I'm not familiar with your situation, if you were trespassing or otherwise breaking the law then fine. In your original post you sad you were in your car...I don't know what a "trap club" is. We have clay shooting ranges here that are private and have a gate.
