I have never heard ATC use that term.
Ramp, apron, taxiway is all I have ever heard ATC or anyone else in aviation use.
That said, my airline has a “ tarmac delay checklist” we are to follow if delayed on the ground for extended periods of time in order to comply with company and regulatory laws when passenger delays are involved after pushback or after landing.
