Agreed. Everything in moderation including moderation.I don't really see the issue - mainly how MUCH or HOW BIG potato?
Potatoes are quite nutritious. Just avoid eating them as french fries or potato chips and go easy on the portion sizes.

Wife makes me two poached eggs each morning before she leaves for work.
Once in a while I tell her not to. On a day when I am feeling like throwing caution to the wind I will "go bad".
Chop up a potato , thin as I can with green onion , white onion , fresh garlic and all kind of seasonings , even real bacon bits and smother that down in olive oil. When all nice and browned up , toss in a bunch of eggs. Doctors would have a fit!

Good point if one does not go too big or too much at one meal. Usually one baking size or little smaller potato.
Not creating fear and confusion. What's the difference?
I can show you many forums of experienced educated people that say potatoes are a safe starch, and some that recommend you eat 2 pounds or more of potatoes per day. Others that eat nothing but white potatoes for days, weeks, months or longer, and their health improves.
So if you've determined potatoes to be a bad food choice for you, that wouldn't apply to many or most people.
Why do people create fear and confusion among certain whole foods?
I picked up 2 more 10 pound bags of red potatoes the other day at Sam's Club and I'll continue to eat potatoes freely.
I've educated myself enough to know they're an excellent food for my body.
Not creating fear and confusion.
I merely asked a question and you lectured me.
There is a difference for some people, as even you pointed out.
You seem a bit defensive.
NothingLemme go out on a limb here........what happens when you cross the state line?
I did answer your question but you seem to be going so fast. I said it makes a difference. But you didn't answer my question.
Many people can eat white potatoes freely on a whole food diet and not gain weight.
People that don't want to believe that are often people with junk / processed food addictions they're not willing to stop eating.
Unwilling to give up junk food, so will blame potatoes as being the culprit.
Like how much butter, fake butter, or sour cream / fake sour cream is added to the potatoes, and how many store bought French fries that are soaked with toxic oils are eaten, and hash browns with same.
It's like some of you don't care to know anything more about potatoes than you've already gathered.
And by making an unhappy emoticon under my post, doesn't add anything to the conversation.
But my mistake for making a post about my passion for 2 simple foods.
I did answer your question but you seem to be going so fast. I said it makes a difference.
It makes a difference if a person is diabetic or allergic or on Atkins diet or any essentially any ultralow carb or keto diet. I know for a fact I cannot lose weight if I have TOO MUCH potato.
You just want to fight. I didn't post an emoticon for your post. You seem so touchy, I'm not going to do that. YOU even lectured again in this post.
And the ironic thing, is I actually do agree with you on potatoes for the most part. Especially after they have been cooked and cooled. Resistant starch.
Potatoes HAVE been wrongly maligned but that doesn't mean EVERYONE CAN FREELY EAT POTATOES 24/7. Not everyone. 15-30 grams might be a good strict limit for some. Others can double or triple that and have no problem.
My bad on that. I should have written as carbs. So closer to 148 grams of potato. So like a 1/3 pound tater.30 grams is only 1 ounce, not enough to be worth measuring or debating.
You no longer feel teh need to marry your sister."I used to have to wear glasses when I drove my car in Tennessee but no more".

I grow a ton of spuds and this year even more no sprays at all but do those taters vanish!!The only thing I really have concerns with in eating a lot of potatoes is the potential pesticide and herbicides loads on them. I now mostly peel about half the skins off them, so I get some of the good stuff in the skin but not the full chemical load... I probably should look harder for organic ones.
