Two different CarQuest R84356s

We recently purchased a CR-V, and while ordering some maintenance bits I saw the discounted "Famous Maker" filters on Rock Auto. Figured I would get a bunch of them to stock up given the generally favorable reviews here.

Since I got a bunch of them, I noticed some looked a little different. All have the "leak tested" on the top, so they are the PG filters. But turns out I have a few of them that are from the Vietnam factory, while the rest are from China.

The can is shaped a little differently, the holder (not sure of the correct terminology) for the spring is different, and the Vietnam ones have what looks to be excess/sloppier glue.

I don't have the tools for a proper cut, so outside shots only at this point.

Has anyone else seen these differences in the same CarQuest reds before?

PG works with a few different factories..

Here are at least two of them. Sometimes hard to access their sites but you will pull them up eventually.

Sounds like you're talking about the bypass valve configuration.
