Noob here, looking for wisdom.
I have a 2004 HD Heritage Softail with 22000 miles that is currently using HD Syn3 20w-50 and a 2007 BMW R1200GSA with 10000 miles that has conventional Castrol 20w-50 in the crankcase. I would like to get both bikes on the same synthetic oil and I generally prefer to pick one oil and stay with it.
I figured that Mobil 1 15w-50 would be the way to go but I have been reading the raves for PP and am considering that as well. I had given Amsoil some consideration but price, availability and the whole thing about paying for a membership to buy Amsoil products just doesn't sit well with me. Any suggestions?

Pablo-I,m in Bradenton...probably 80-90 miles.
johnny-I had seen the V-Twin, what makes it different from regular M1?

Basically, more additives.

Only slightly more additives.
But it does have a motorcycle on the label.
It's also priced accordingly.
The Mobil 1 15W-50 used to be the Red Cap formula that cycle owners have used for years.
With reasonable change intervals, it'll do great in either of your cycles.

The v twin oil has a higher flash point, more additives (however slight) and resist shearing more than pcmo's do. is a pretty robust oil.

amsoil cycle oil is [censored] good too.

If used a pcmo i wouldnt go past 2500 miles without a uoa.

Like mentioned, the M1 15W50 was and still is used by lots of cyclists and is a decent oil.
