I put Turtle Wax Ice on my black car and now it seems to collect dust faster than before. Is this my imagination?
So far I am not impressed by how long it stays looking good.

Like I mentioned in another post, Ice is mostly silicone, which is a bit "sticky", and will tend to attract more dirt and dust.

Silicone products are exactly the way you mentioned. They look great for a short period of time. That's why dealers use silicone products...They're inexpensive, and they get the job done long enough to get the car sold or run thru the auction or whatever.

I haven't found an MSDS for it but when I played with it, I thought ICE was nothing more than silicone oil and fragrance. I am not surprised you've found it attracts dust.

I think the issue here is not the product, but static. Anytime you wax a car, then buff the paint, you are adding a static charge to the paint surface that attracts all sorts of dust. I've had this issue with any product I've used. Wash the car and this will reduce the attraction a tad.

Great advice and I agree totally. I don't think it's so much the wax (silicone or no silicone) but a buffing will put a static charge on the paint, this is what attracts the pollens and dust. If you don't want to wash it to temper that effect, perhaps you could use a spray detailer after waxing to curb it. I've found that works very well.

I did an experiment by waxing one side of the car with Ice an the other side with Eagle Nanowax. I left the car sit outside on the gravel driveway for a day. The wind was blowing hard and kicked up quite a bit of dust. I would say that the side with Ice collected about 50% more dust. It wipes off easily so it must just be static cling.
I am sold on the Nanowax because it is very easy to use. Even if it does not last a long time, putting more on is not much more difficult than drying the car.

Nanowax is decent.

If you really want to try a fantastic product, give Liquid Glass a shot.

I haven't been disappointed in it whatsoever. I've run it head-to-head against Zaino at car shows. No particpant or attendee could tell the difference between my car with Liquid Glass and another identical one with Zaino.

cheaper then liquid glass and more durable is Duragloss 105 bought at Carquest.

seriously last a long time.

it's a paint sealant/synthetic wax.

Just used TW ice. I actually used the paste first, then rewaxed the whole car ('06 Jetta - Black) with the liquid. I really liked the fact that I did not have to worry about getting it on the trim. In fact I waxed the trim, head and tail light covers, etc. No white residue to see or clean up.

The paste version actually states that it lasts longer than the leading brand but no such working is on the liquid. Overall satisified. Time will tell how it holds up!
