Last night, while trying to complete a transmission flush, I spilled a large amount of transmission fluid onto my garage floor. Since I was lying on the ground, my hair became contaminated with this oily mess. Even though I changed my shirt and pants before driving my car to prevent dirtying-up the seats in the Prius, I had forgotten that my hair was oily.

As a result, it turn my headrest into a dark, oily mess. Worse, I did not notice this until about 8 am the next morning. At noon, after the oily soil had baked into the car for a few hours, I tried the "Turtle Wax Oxy Power Out Upholstery Cleaner" on the headrest.

I followed the instructions by spraying the foam onto the headrest and thoroughly scrubbing the headrest with the very stiff can brush. After repeating several times and wiping down the surface, all of the oily soil was gone. The light gray color of the headrest returned and you cannot even tell that the incident ever occurred.

Sure, a proper hot water extraction is the best way to clean this up, but the Turtle Wax stuff did its job well and was only $5/can at O'Reilly. Highly recommend this product, as it did the job well and saved the day.

What did you use on your hair? Joy dish detergent will get the grease off your hair.
