I bought some of this to do a new car. The directions says not to wash it for 24 hours as it needs time to cure. What about dew or rain?

Agree, good question. I'm not sure if it's detergent or water that might interfere with the crosslinking. I'd just do the best you can to give it as much time before it gets wet. It's not a 24 hour switch where one second after 23:59:59 it all of the sudden is 'cured.' Some parts will cure faster than others. Also if it does bother you, just slap on another coat well after 24 hours. The 2nd coat was a near universal instruction with crosslinking sealants became more popular.

Well I applied the sealant on a newly washed nearly new Subaru Outback. You put so little on its hard to tell where you have put it on or not. It does not remove any water spots like a normal wax would. My main goal is to seal the paint for the winter. I hope this will do it. Is a 2nd coat advised? Right away or wait 24 hours?

Then some wax on top?

What should I expect? A so so look, but seal out the mud & salt?

Last time I tried a sealant was TR-3 Resin Glaze about 20 or 30 years ago and it was a real PIA to buff out the haze.

Sealing your vehicle in the middle of September for a north eastern winter? Good luck with that. If you do it every month you will have more success.
