TSLA @ $806. Elon is #1

Musk is about $1B to $3B ahead of Bezos.
Either way, $188.5 is a lotta scratch.
I believe he went up by $160B over the last year.
Oh yeah if Bezo's hadn't gotten divorced, and lost 25% of his stock in the divorce he might still be ahead.

As for Musk, yeah, the stock is up 800% while the company did 38% better. Maybe it's good that people aren't good at math. I guess I'm a shareholder now too, I think it was something like the #5 holding in the S&P 500.

When Tesla split

I bought

Im up over $200 bucks a share since the split
I’m happy happy happy with my buy !!👍

The genius of Musk is the geniuses he surrounds himself with. Still don`t like him co-opting the name Tesla as Tesla was a true genius.

There's a lot of belief that people like Edison etc aren't the true inventers of what they were said to have created.

Tesla is credited with.. is it Alternating Current, to Einstein's Direct Current? Or do I have that reversed. It has been awhile

Tesla wanted to broadcast electricity. He had a lab that bugged the neighbors with lightning bolts shooting out of it willy-nilly.

Westinghouse did AC. He was able to get power from Niagra Falls to Buffalo NY, 30 miles away.

Edison's DC suffered transmission losses that meant it couldn't go more than two miles. So there'd be a (licensed) Edison power plant in every town. Westinghouse was a threat to all this, Edison HATED the guy.

The rivalry was Tesla to Edison? (I'm reading, just reading fast as to at work)

Not that many. I was gonna buy years ago, but my conservative personal finance mind wouldn't allow it.
I bought some this year and more than doubled my money. I have to wait for capital gains to kick in otherwise the tax man taketh away...
I am going to use the gains to help out a friend who is a single father. Property ain't cheap in these parts...

Dave, I don't think it is a good idea to talk too much about out personal worth because it separates us.

Amazon stock dropped about $200.00 per share over several trading days ago, shareholder shock from 767 plane purchases. It has recouped maybe $100.00 of it. Bezo's took a hit.

I don't own Tesla so I don't track its dollar average per day, but it been up session over session and big. Elon has been seen daily at the local Greenery store and neighbors claim he must be using the fireplace alot because there is a smokie haze hovering over his home, I mean Castle.

Isn't the stock market like a game?
It is and it isn't. If you study game theory, most games are zero sum games. That is, in a game of poker, the total pot is whatever anyone puts in it. Some will win and others will lose, but the net change is zero hence zero sum game. In the stock market, everyone can actually be a winner so it's not quite the same. People do tend to have a zero sum bias though.

I WANT to like Elon.. I really do.

But his shares have been going up and down for years.. this is nothing new...

He needs to sell every share this minute and use the cash to shut the Bill Gates Foundation down. Yes, I know it doesn't work that way. But it should.
Warren Buffet also contributes to the Gates Foundation so it's not just Bill. What on their website do you find objectionable?

At least they've given away $54 billion, otherwise Bill could just stay home and use his trampoline room.
