TSLA @ $806. Elon is #1

Bezos and musk certainly have their ways of doing things that are most impressive.

Well, it is nice to see someone succeed in the USA. Bob Lutz has been writing Tesla's obituary for 4 or 5 years that I know of. I hope in the long run that Tesla survives. It is those who take risks that make neat things. I think the Tesla cars are very nice looking cars too.

The electric grid is not very reliable where I live as all the power lines are overhead and we lose power during every storm that develops wind over 35 knots or so. Trees alway fall and take out our power.. I cannot rely on an electric car at this point.

...and how does this affect you personally? [OP]

I wonder whom will be more fruitful for saving lives:
1. Bill Gates and his foundation
2. Elon wanting to establish a colony on Mars (backup planet for if Earth goes down)

oh and "Today he is an American success story who has disrupted the world. Amazing." could also be said about Dorsey and Zuckerberg. 🤷‍♂️

All the money in the world means absolutely nothing if the person is morally bankrupt....

How does Tesla's success affect me?
Well, I am a shareholder in the company; it has been an outstanding investment.
When NUMMI shuttered, thousands of jobs and a huge tax base were lost. Many laid off employees lost their home. It was bad.
When Musk chose the Fremont plant to build his cars, he took out major adds in the local paper asking ex-NUMMI workers to apply.
Once again, Tesla is the biggest employeer in Fremont, CA. More than 10,000 workers...

Bill Gates has done wonderful things for the world. Does that make Musk bad?
Musk has never shied away from a crisis. During hurricane Maria, he supplied power to help to Puerto Rico.
He has engineered materials for affordable housing.
Perhaps you remember he used his technology and manufacturing to make ventilator parts earlier last year.
There is much more.
I hope this helps.

Musk has disrupted the entire auto industry. He also makes rocket ships...

He deserves it. Musk is a visionary without equal.

He’s definitely a very innovative and smart person. Some folks hate other people’s success and were shorting Tesla hoping to draw in other vultures.

Guys like that work like dogs for years to be successful. Good on them, hopefully in the end they leave a lot of money to do good in the world like Andrew Carnegie did.

I've read all the Wait Buy Why blogs on Elon/SpaceX - interesting guy for sure.

Him getting to be #1 or #2 of the world's richest doesn't change anything though. He did the same stuff after he was worth _billion after selling Paypal.
I guess good for him? Both him and Bezos aren't known for being all that nice to employees, no matter how many jobs they create. Hopefully they'll do good for humanity with their massive fortunes someday.

11:35 am Elon went #2, please discuss.

That's kind of was my first thought when I saw this..

Look, I am not a "hater" I actually have an interest in successful people. But if stock price bursts like a bubble then it was all a game.. is a game.. no?

Tesla will not continue to enjoy their success, the others will be taking market share very soon. Note that these others have established service networks, working replacement parts inventories and logistics to support same - the very aspects of Tesla that dogs the owners every day.

Elon is a very interesting person, but this current hyper wealth is not his goal IMHO, but it - the market cap bubble will reverse itself soon enough.
