Trying out a Carquest Premium (Blue) filter

I usually use a Mobil 1 or Purolator Pure One filter but decided to try out the Carquest Blue filter as it uses the synthetic media.

Will probably cut this open when I change the oil again.

Since when did Carquest Blue (WIX) start using synthetic media? It is a really good filter but it is just a blue WIX with carquest written on it. Still a fine filter, I consider it to be slightly better constructed to the Purolator PureOne

How much are these synthetic WIXs running now in either brand (NAPA, Carquest, WIX)?

They call the media "glass enhanced".

The effect is better filtration.
