Tried NuFinish Today ...

Chris B. - Just curious, since your rant above seemed to insinuate that quite a few people on here (either in this thread or not, I can't really be sure) are basically blathering/parroting idiots when it comes to detailing.. who exactly was all that aimed at? Not trying to start a war, but I'm genuinely curious, especially since I was one of those involved in the conversation and stated that I didn't think Nu Finish was the best.

My pleasure Stevie! I hate to be a hard [censored] about stuff but I get so sick and tired of seeing misinformation and myths being spread. I just wish people would stop with the [censored] and get educated on what the reality is. I spend a lot of time on gun forums and it’s even worse than the car forums LOL!

Nothing was directed at you. This goes back quite a few years. I have no problem with people saying NF is not what they prefer or like or recommend. It’s been proven many times by many different people that it does last a very long time and offers very good protection. It’s the people that insist none of that is true and that it is garbage. There are a couple people that continuously bash NF and I and others have asked them numerous times to post pictures or video showing their work and why NF failed them. These people have never posted a single picture or any shred of evidence that they even work on vehicles. Not one single time in all these years. But yet they will be back in the next thread stating “NF is garbage that doesn’t last more than a few minutes in a rainstorm“. It’s literally like debating with a two-year-old. So I apologize for my rant but I get sick and tired of these types of “detailers“ claiming they are experts and pushing the same bull [censored]. There are a lot of people who are new here looking to start out and don’t have the experience and they get extremely bad advice from these people. They just need to stop bashing And trash talking when they don’t have any real world experience to back it up. It doesn’t do anyone and good especially people learning.

*****. The picture was posted but because orange was my favorite color not because new finish comes in an orange bottle. It was a joke man!

They were separate posts. A lengthy one, and a short one with a Lambo. I for one welcome a picture of a clean Lambo over a potato pic of a dirty Mercedes.

You've got your Porter Cable, right? Maybe next Monday we'll have a before/after post with process and products used?

As for NuFinish, It's just not the durability, but I think for me the oils and polish it gives to the paint to condition and refresh the paint. It has worked wonders on some of my vehicles finishes.

This is an older car, 1999 SLK Supercharged, which I bought used and paint was kind of abused. This is a daily driver that was out in the Texas sun 5 or 6 days a week. Garaged at night.
I never buffed or DAed it.
Always polished with Nu Finish and every time the paint just got smoother, deeper, and more wet looking. Very slick so that dirt and bird droppings have a hard time sticking. Really protects the finish.

On my Ferrari I used Klasse. Extremely hard to apply and buff out. Probably 5 times more work then NuFinish.
This car isn't really a fair test as I painted it with extra high solids clear and then color sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. It won best paint job in car show.
I miss this car, but I drove it for eight years and sold it for more then I paid for it, so I can't complain. Now looking for the right Ferrari 360 Spider. I want red this time. I would never have another black car.

I replaced my other Mercedes with this one when it was totaled by box a truck running me over about 1 1/2 years ago. Bought this one from a starlet in Beverly Hills when it came off lease. Car as new except she always had it washed in drive through car wash. Used NuFinish and it really helped make it look great for 1 1/2 years. Just recently used the DA on it with Maguire's Ultimate compound, then Klasse All in one polish. Then waxed it yesterday with RejeX to see how that works out. They claim wipe on and then just wipe off after 20 minutes. I must have put too much on since it was difficult to rub off. See how it works, then may go back to my good old NuFinish as the bird poop is really bad where I park and the NuFinish has always protected the finish from that with slick finish and always comes right off as do the love bugs.

Everyone has preferences on what they like due to the variables of what they need and time to do it.

I have used may products and feel that NuFinish is one of the best out there. I've never used a product with more protection or durability. What you use and prefer is fine with me.

Nice cars! I know this is going to sound weird... But the NuFinish on the red is giving me that "plastic-y" vibe I talked about earlier. In the bottom photos it may be the lighting - they look a little washed out.

Griot's Poly Wax, seen here:

Gives a lush, deep gloss.

Is it just me? It's ok if it's just me.

That’s what I’m talking about! Someone who actually uses their vehicles and details them with different products and post the results!

Excellent work and the shine is great! The black really pops! You should try to get a picture up close at an angle to see if you can get a seamless transition of your reflection with the Camera reflected in the paint. Great quality work!

It really does kind of look washed out. I'm not a very good photographer and picture is taken with an old iPhone 5(don't laugh, it still works lol)
I may try taking some photos with a better camera.

Nice work with that Griot's Poly Wax. Beautiful! Even the tires are glowing. I never have the patience to get my tires like that.
I have used Griot's products and they are great, I especially like griot's fast correcting cream

Only one I have close to that is of my Carrera. Worked really hard getting the new tail lights to reflect like the paint.

That is impressive...about as good as it gets!

Here is a black Ford Taurus I did last week:

Thanks! It was very neglected and the black paint showed. I wish I had "before" pictures. It came out pretty well considering.

Here's a couple shots of my Fusion, back in 2015, after I did a full paint correction to it. When I bought it in 2014, it was completely covered in 'spider webs' and other assorted RIDS. Must have been driven through those automatic washes every week, it was so bad.

Wish I had better quality pics on hand, but it's been over 3 years and I can't find any better ones right now.

So in the end...all that recent new noise introduced into a thread about NuFinish and raving about the greatness of NuFinish included a myriad of photos for cars detailed with mostly everything except NuFinish.

While being on the other side of the NuFinish coin, I respect the fact that you adhere to not having misrepresentation done about that product.

That said...what was carefully omitted by several posters was the well-known fact about the difficulty of working with the NuFinish product, as well as it's excess dustiness and residue on dark trim - neither of which is a myth. Those were the key points originally made (but disputed). Despite hundreds of testimonies online...any real debate was not about IF it protects, rather, the claim that NuFinish is problem free and viably protects for the advertised 1 year time period, which countless other professional detailers (in threads online) and other product manufacturers will (and do) challenge.

For many of the cars shown that were photo-worthy...not surprisingly...products other than NuFinish were used....which makes perfect sense.

Thanks for sharing the photos. Your series of photos shows work completed by a quality detailer.

Hundaifan, do you even read the thread before giving your useless replies? The two red mercs were done in NF, as well as the pics posted by Chris.
Also, no one in this thread said NF is easy to work with, doesn't dust and doesn't stain plastic trim, but it was mentioned that if one is careful with the application and doesn't apply too much of the product, NF is not that bad to work with. But there is a learning curve to it.

Again, start reading the replies instead of skimming them.
