Triax again. 75w140 question

that's where the link on their page takes me.
The thing with Triax is that they're rank-amateurs, selling someone's oil. I call them that because too many mistakes, mislabeling, specifications mismatches, outlandish marketing, etc., happen. Most likely half the time they don't even know exactly what exactly it is they're selling in their own containers.

I'd post a triax video but it does not meet bitog standards.

Just avoid.. anything good about it is marketing.

Also Pails dont make anything easy.. The valvoline squeeze bags make it easy.

You know as much about triax as starfire so use this 5gal pail for 100$ over the triaxxxx

I like the option of packaging. I'll take the "squirt" for $80. :ROFLMAO:

I was again looking for some cheaper options for my trucks in the 75w-140 flavor and came across Triax. Glad a searched here first.

TRIAX is like HPL or Schaeffers they are not really consumer ready even though you can find them on the consumer market place. They mostly market to Fleets, Idustry, Minning and Heavy Equipment Repair facilities. Think of them like Castrol or Amsoil. None of these companies have their own oil fields, pumps, refineries. They are either blenders or formulators or have things made for them to their specifications. Toyota, Ford, GM, Chrysler/Stellantis/Fiat, Subaru, BMW none of them have any manufacturing in the petrolem world they all purchase products made by someone else. In some cases they partner and do research in other cases they do their own research and decide what they want. No one distrusts MotorCraft because they do not make anything themselves or any of the other's!

Someone is either selling a good product or they are not. Word spreads pretty fast if someone is making a bad product especially if there is even a shred of evidence/proof!

They do not make false claims.

Huge difference between light duty cars and trucks and the tiny capacity they have and large induastrial applications where capacities are much larger.

If you listened to Amsoils old material than all of us that have ever used Mobil-1, Valvoline, Castrol, Pennzoil, Red Line, Motul and many other trusted brands of gear lube should have all had our transmissions and diff's blown to the moon or melted down to China by now. That is not in anyway a slight against Amsoils products but their marketing was very hyperbolic. I have no doubt Amsoil makes great products I have used thema nd recomended them myself. My point is that maybe gear lube is not as demanding as some would make you think in every application. Other than in a failed axle that was knowingly abused or ingested water I have never seen gear lube come out anything but pristeen. In ever case where it came out looking or smelling terrible either the axle bearings or the diff and it's pinon bearings failed and the spiders failed and in every case the vechiles was used to tow in excess of OEM limits, never had a fluid change and often had water in the lube. No one wants to admit they caused their failure so it is always the fluid.

You mean like Red Line, Motul, Pennzoil, Valvoline, Ravenol,Castrol,Mobil-1 and the like? Accodring to Amsoil those products are terrible. Maybe Schaeffer's then? Maybe HPL?

So what makes them reputable and TRIAX not reputable?

Any 5 gallon pails of SunCoast 140wt or how about Mystic Pails? I gurantee you farmers and gravel trains in Michigan by Mystic gear lube in pails and 55 drums and well as CItgo products and Deere and what ever else local suppliers are pushing with no brand loyalty at all. One heavy salvage operation I worked out welding up cylinder heads and reworking cranks sold only CENPECO products from quarts to drums from oil to roof patching products.

I doubt anyone on this forum would use most of the brands these Farmers, Owner Operators and maintence yards where using because they where not house hold names.

You know most of the brands you know make a product for far more applications than you will ever see at Walmart or Auto Zone! Almost all of your blenders and refineries make and market product that you will never see unless you work with large fleets and inside of captial industry. For instance almost all of them make gear lube and ATF and hydralic fluid and ashphalt products and different lubricating fluids and fuels but you will never see most of the products they make on a retail shelf because they do not market to retail. There are a lot of minimum qty. required!

In under 24 hours I watched the price of Valvoline 75-140 GL5 4 quart bags increase in price drasticly then become unavailbe on two different retail to consumer internet order sights. If I recall it went from $49 to $64 for 4 quarts to $79 for 3 to unavailable. TRIAX price did not go up a cent stayed right at $54 a galon. I needed a gallon shhipped over night for a 3500 that needs it to get make on the road. I ordered it last night and got it to AZ today.

Idiots are hoarding again like they did with TP during Covid-19. I am not a fan of people last minute hoarding if you need to stockpile that is fine do not do it all at once and leave the shelfs bare. Even during covid I always left product for the next guy did not matter if it is milk, egg's or bullets.

What is with Triax and new members……they come out of the woodwork to defend this company.

I will say moving headquarters from the dudes house to a strip mall was a step in the right direction.
