Guys,

I have searched multiple Mustang forums and the general consensus is the Tremec 3650 manual transmission in my 2004 Mach 1 Mustang operates the best with Pennzoil Dexron III fluid. I know that fluid has been updated to a new formulation(not sure what it is called now) and my question is could it be possible new formulation may not be as good for this application as the older version Dexron III? I have emailed Tremec for clarification and waiting for a response.

My car has 13,700 miles with original fluid. The transmission shifts well and has no issues but figured it should be changed now that car is almost ten years old.

Thanks

Go to the Amsoil website and use what they suggest. You cannot go wrong with Amsoil, except its more expensive than other lubricants.

I emailed Tremec and they responded with Mobil 1 (spelled it Mobile by the way lol) ATF is recommended by them for the 3650. I am going to give it a try.
