I have an 8 foot utility trailer I use quite often and Id like to treat the boards. Ive heard of everything from a 50/50 mix of used oil/diesel, used ATF and also hydraulic oil. What have you used with success?
Linseed oil, raw if you can get it. Boiled linseed oil has a drying agent in it. Raw does not me will penetrate better.
Obviously it will also take longer to dry.
It's wood, right?
Why not use something made for wood ... ever hear of Thompson's Water Seal? That's what I use on both my house deck and trailer deck.
Used oils make things messy, and often too slick if they get wet (rain).
