One of the TES-295 alternative synthetic ATF that Allison approves for my trans is BP Autran Syn 295. My BP distributer can get me this ATF for $25 + change per Gal. (in 5 gal bucket) Transynd at the Allison dealers are between $40.80 and $49.00 per gal. My Allison 1000 handles about 14.5 quarts. Anyone have any comments on BP synthetic ATF?

Need to add that info here has told me that Castrol is a division of BP. Transynd is made by Castrol for Allison. Since Autran syn 295 has the same specs. it seems we have the same formulation as Transynd for almost 1/2 the cost.

Don't doubt it. These major's play these stupid single-source/pricing/distribution games all the time.
The Castrol Transynd properties are slightly different than the properties for BP Autran Syn 295.
I'm not sure that they are identical.

Amsoil makes a dirrect replacement for Transynd called Tourquedrive. I think its about $35-$40 . I have never tried it but most of their other stuff I've used have been great.
