Transfer case vs Diff - Which runs hotter?

Some OEM diffs needed the higher KV that SAE reduced.

Thats what I was thinking - Its an older vehicle; and accordingly it was probably meant to run at the new 75w110 spec.
That said, I'm sure it doesn't matter when running Amsoil Severe Gear.

I switched to 75w-140 and didn't look back.
