Just bought my wife a 95 Dodge Stratus and I was wondering what kind of transmission fluid am I supposed to use in it? I use ATF+4 in my 98 Dodge Ram, not sure about the Stratus.

Yup, Only use ATF+4. Brand doesn't really matter.

Have successfully used Mopar, Valvoline, and Amsoil. My friend and I agree that so far Amsoil seat of the pants seems smoother and better in cold weather.

I've got a 98 Stratus with the 2.4L and automatic trans. About 1.5 year ago I changed out my transmission filter/fluid and used supertech multi vehicle ATF. If you read the bottle closely you'll see it is a synthetic blend and they say you can use it in place of atf+3/4.

My Stratus has NEVER shifted as nicely as it did when I did this fluid change. Did the change at ~138k miles and right now I've got ~169k miles.

Here's a silly question: A/T or M/T? An M/T from that year would actually spec a more viscous synchromesh fluid. ATF+4 in a A/T, though.
