Trailmater Recovery in Moab

I've hiked to the bottom of the grand canyon and back. There's water fill stations along the most popular trails so you only need to carry 3 or 4 quarts. I think when I did it I drank about 2 gallons of water.
There's a book about ALL the deaths in the Grand Canyon (although they'll need to update for 2026) and honestly it's fascinating and a VERY easy read. I recommend it.

One little kid starts with his family on the rim and is running around excited as little boys do the entire time. They get to the river bottom and he simply drops dead of dehydration. A Boy Scout troop gets into a similar situation, for which I think the troop leaders should be banished from society.

My dad always kept a few old Gatorade bottles refilled with water in his car. A gallon of water helps a lot if you are stranded and you (or your radiator) need a drink

There may have been a time when that wasn't the case :ROFLMAO:
