Taking it off topic, a long time ago, I once had a discussion with a senior manager that a "quality process" COULD include taking a sample of "barker's nuts" (dog faeces), spray painting them gold, weighing them to the nearest tenth of a gramme, and placing them in a box with a pink ribbon, and meet ISO 9000 certification.

The doubletalk on this forum leaves me shaking my head. Members will parrot how it's the entire package that makes a good oil, not just one component, yet somehow the 0W-XX M1 is "higher quality" because of it's PAO content.

I honestly think that from reading and learning here that Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy and Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 would be hard to beat. Maybe I am wrong

Keithl, feel free to use the full synthetic 5w20 everywhere.

I doubt that you or the engine would notice the difference in your LA climate(losangeles or louisiananana).

High of ~90°F in L.A.
High of ~80°F in Louisiana.

Unless you're trying to save a few bucks, why not just use TGMO? I'm using it right now and I must say I kind of think I understand what all the hype is about. My car generally uses a 1/2 quart of oil every 5k miles, but with the TGMO I'm not losing a drop. I find that strange because I figured it would burn maybe a bit easier than a 5w20, but so far the opposite has been true.
