We all agree that the Toyota has a problem and some have been recalled. I think that we are forgetting that there have been many recalls that are also a danger to our lives -- food, medicine, tires and other vehicles. There has been recalls of toys and appliances etc.. I think this is the time to move on to something new. Many of the threads have turned political and some members have been given vacations. The blame game is not solving any of the problems.

Thank you Helen for some COMMON SENSE!

I agree Helen......but honestly as a domestic guy and supporter, there is a reason that I still hear about the Pinto.

I wish all sides would realize that these are very complicated "appliances" we are discussing. There will be problems. When a Company is thought or suspected of covering an issue up it becomes a much larger issue than the individual recall. Ford learned that lesson the hard way and they still hear about it.

I'm not saying that Toyota did or did not operate in a similar fashion over the last few years. The jury is still out, but this is much larger than a few recalls.

With that said, I say give it some time. Defenders and bashers alike have been taking way too many speculative stances and then building arguments either way. IF Toyota did in fact cover things up, it will come out. If not, then they will be fine....this will not be their Pinto, fourty years from now.
