The ones that I have seen are oiled cotton gauze, so the anti K&N/OCG brigade will be along shortly with their pitchforks
While there are some OCG filters in my stable (none of them factory drop in style) I wouldn't bother with these, personally.

OP is talking about oil filter not air filter.
TRD oil filter is no better than double layers synthetic filter such as Fram Ultra.

Member gaijinnv swears by them. Rated 98%@20um made in the US. Looks to be a well made filter in spin-on or cartridge form.

However, does it have a heavier gauge stamping to resist impacts and leaks from debris strikes?
