I would like to flush a 1GR-FE Toyota with distilled water, drain 50% and refill with a concentrate.

Engine has had an 8 qt dealer flush prior (capacity is 10.4 qts) with Toyota SLLC.

I have used PEAK OET Extended Life Red/Pink Concentrate Antifreeze/Coolant for Asian in another later model Toyota recently.

Also available easily via Amazon is:
Recochem OEM 86-174POEM Pink Premium Antifreeze Concentrate
amazon.com/gp/product/B00U1OOOE8

@Sayjac et al
Any reason to select one product over the other, chemistry wise?

Or choose the dealer method and drop and replace 8 qts with Toyota Super Long Life Coolant?

Thank you

If you got or can find a concentrate Asian PHOAT AF, I like that plan. Do distilled flushes with engine warm up cycles until water runs clear or close. After last drain, fill with ~5.2 qts Peak OET or Recochem concentrate, top off with distilled and you're good to go. "If" I wanted to do a complete flush, that's what I'd do anyway. No need to find or mess with engine block drains that way. Just the radiator drain plug. Might take more distilled but that's inexpensive stuff.

Alternatively , you could just do a simple radiator d&f and shorten the interval. Can make your own 50% from concentrate on hand with distilled in a jug. Peak OET Asian, Recochem Asian concentrate, either fine. Of course the radiator d&f much simpler. Just how far you want to go. If system relatively well maintained, consider the latter.

Dealer billed out two gallons. Tech drained the radiator and block drains (if you're lucky, but not likely) and refilled.

Just looked:
Can confirm indeed billed for 2
But did include 10% parts and labor mil discount, and complimentary rinse!

I'd suggest double checking whether the coolant is supposed to be PHOAT or HOAT, in the document you posted it seems like it says HOAT:....
Toyota SLL Pink is a P-HOAT AF, same as other Asian vehicle OEM AFs. If you'll note after that it says "(coolant with LL hybrid organic acid technology consists of low phosphates and organic acids)" The phosphates accounts for the P in PHOAT.

Would be great if P was simply the designator for Pink

It's just coincidence that Toyota chose pink tint for there SLLC PHoat AF. Honda and Nissan are also PHOAT AF with same attributes as SLLC, but they are blue tint. Subaru also blue tint PHoat but recent information says they've gone over to the dark side and started using 2eha as an inhibitor. Mazda FL22 PHoat is green tint. I saw on Amazon a Rechochem OEM brand Asian Red concentrate and premix that I'm confident same as their pink tint Asian AF.

You’ll be fine w your choices of AF. I have and use Prestone AMAM in many of the Toyotas that I own(ed) w zero issues.
