You know ten years ago I would have thought you were a conspiracy theorist....HOWEVER, I have noticed a LOT of recalls that in my view are questionable at best considering the circumstances involved, sure I suppose you could say the legal departments are driving this, BUT I wonder, with the economy stuck in very low gear and unemployment still very high in REALITY (forget the fake DoL stats.) it would seem that scaring the consumer might be the best way to "sell" them something new and pull them out of the old. Yep, I think there is merit to this argument.
I've noticed this trend with MANY household appliances over the past several years. Coincidence? Doubt it.
I loved it when Whirlpool recalled out dishwasher for parts that "could" cause an electrical fire located in the door of the unit. They had a "kit" that would be installed free of charge by an "authorized" dealer. Well they came and installed that kit and it promptly broke the unit, and caused leaks as well. Oh, nothing but a coincidence even though that dishwasher performed flawlessly for about 10 years in a row with heavy use. When they pulled the old parts out of the unit I closely looked at them and there was NOT a thing that looked suspect.
