Battery powered vehicles are the car of the future... and always will be. If anyone here knows, please tell us if it is indeed possible to get a battery to push a 3,000, no wait make it 4,000 pounds to compensate for said battery, vehicle, for stated 40 miles?? I highly doubt it.

We've had one back in 98 that could push a 4500lb for about 120 miles max on pure battery power. It was a NiMh pack that cost $200k from Ovonics custom made prototype formulated for us. It is probably only $20k or less now.

The battery pack was so large, we have to cut the entire floor of a Taurus out and make a battery box out of the floor and mount it that way. That low center of gravity (at least 600 lb below the axles) makes great handling.
