Came off 2025 GR Corolla after break-in miles were done. Sealing on both ends looked perfect. Not much metal to speak of. It's a shame the efficiency isn't better on these.

Even a rock catcher should capture some big break in metal particles, so looks like your engine is healthy ... or they all got through the media, lol.

Right, in hindsight I could have worded the post better. What I meant was for the break-in period there didn't seem to be much large metal (which any filter should have caught) and that I like the overall filter construction, but that the info out there on actual media efficiency doesn't look all that great. Easy enough to find PGI filters locally though. Still have one OG XG3600 left from my last car too

I knew what you meant, and yes if there was any larger visible break-in particles (like 40-50u and larger) most would have been caught. Since those were not seen, then your engine break-in is going well. I typically see at least 2 or 3 metal particles on all the new engines I've broke-in. But none seen on the 2nd break-in OCI.
