Toyota Air Filters

As long as the box remains sealed, does it even matter? I usually use the $3-$4 Jobber air filters.
It may, depending on the efficiency of the air filter and where you're driving. I certainly wouldn't wan to use a lower efficiency air filter on an off-road vehicle for example.

Fair enough. I rarely see any vendor post efficiency info on their air filters, though. I am curious if the OE air filters are as inefficient as their oil filter counterparts.

The first filter must have been changed at some point, because the ones with a plastic frame and rubber gasket are aftermarket. The one-piece in your fourth photo is the OEM design.

When I had a '10 Vibe, I found out that AC Delco A3103C is a reboxed Toyota-Denso filter. I got a couple of those with rebates last year for an '18 Corolla.

I once ordered the Denso "First Time Fit" model from RockAuto. It was the OEM design, but there was a molding defect at one corner that made me think it wouldn't seal properly.
